Cheap, nasty & dangerous 'resurfacing' job (Hillside, Portlethen)

Sent to Aberdeenshire Council 4 minutes later

The council have finally 'resurfaced' this road that has lain damaged for several years, recently made worse by construction work nearby...and made it even worse ! A 'cheap' technique called 'slurry surfacing' has been used & left a dangerous, uneven & rough edged surface...which will deteriorate quickly. They have managed to tar over the give way line, plants & weeds at the edge too! This has been reported to the Roads department who don't seem to care...I don't blame the guys that have done it, as they have been screwed down on price to get the job, as it's price that seems to matter...not standards these days (what happened to HAUC & the NRWSA???)

Usual 'professional' response from the council - didn't bother to acknowledge the complaint (I'd also emailed them direct) - until the press threatened to get involved. Then they replied saying that their inspectors had checked, it was ok (!!!!) but that things would be sorted (drains etc).

4 weeks later the ironworks are even lower, the 'slurry' surface (particularly around them) is breaking up & the lines at the junction are still partially obscured.

They seem to have partly managed to rectify the other places that they'd messed up nearby - end of Thistle Drive (lines) & the ridiculous half roundabout left by the station - a most dangerous & daft situation ! (the pics were taken 4 weeks ago - it's worse now !)
