The identity of the owner of the land and hence the person responsible is being traced (the land is currently leased out, complicating matters). It is expected that we will have made contact with the owner next week. A further email will be sent when the branches have been cut back.

The branches are still overhanging the pavement and those of us in the village who have small children have now had to stop walking in to the town altogether as this pavement is completely unsafe. At a number of point, the only way to pass is to walkcompletely on the road. That is effectively dicing with death given the ridiculous speeds people travel at on that particular stretch of road. This has been reported to both angus council and a local councillor this week, it will be interesting to see ho long we are left to languish though. Given it is a matter of health and safety, i wouldd prefer to see Angus Council dealing with the problem then sending a bill to the person responsible, rather than drawing the whole thing out indefinitely until they can be found and made to cut the bushes back.
