Pavement works

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Chris Elliott at 21:08, Sun 26 July 2009
Sent to Barking and Dagenham Borough Council 2 minutes later

Approaching the roundabout where the A123 joins the A124, recent pavement works have created a road narrowing where there is insufficient room for bicycles and motor vehicles to pass through at the same time. This causes a hazard for cyclists, especially where vans and other goods vehicles are involved.

I have been contacted by Skanska, who are constructing East London Transit for TfL, but haven't yet heard from their Public Liaison Officer.

Never heard back from anyone. An experienced cyclist can negotiate this approach, but there are lots of less confident riders out there. The lack of thought in the design shows that whoever was responsible for it just didn't have bikes on their radar
