Despard Road -Total deterioration of this major thoroughfare for pedestrians, children, and local motorists.

Reported in the Potholes category by Keith Smith at 14:09, Wed 22 July 2009
Sent to Coventry City Council 1 minute later

I have lived in my current residence in Despard Rd for over 35 years. 30 years ago the road/path was resurfaced with a beautiful tarmaced surface, followed imediately by other service providers digging it up to inspect pipes and gas in the street-Obviously working to the same time table of inspection. So for 30 years the street has been neglected and patched here and there. The street is dangerous and a disgrace. From the amount of traffic calming humps which abound in the city roads it is obvious there is no shortage of tar. So come on Coventry CC and do your job please.

To be fair the council came the same week that my complaint was sent But they just patched here and there with hand fulls of tarmac over the larger holes. The first rains or frost will dislodge the lumps easily.

Street holes have been patched, but it is only a matter of time over the next winter when they will need doing again in the spring. The whole road needs re surfacing.
