Speed

I am continually disgusted with the speed at which vehicles travel up and down Woodway Lane. I'm wondering when we can see some sort of traffic calming measure, considering the fact that there are two primary schools and two secondary schools whose children walk along this road.
At night we have to listen to cars and bikes racing around Wigston Road, Narbeth Way and onto Woodway Lane. Most of these bikes are being driven by young men without helmets on and I would assume no insurance. I appreciate you cannot 'police' this but if something was done to stop the speeding maybe the attraction would not be there. I have seen the wires to monitor the traffic levels placed on many of the roads around the area including outside our house, however still no action has been taken. I have also emailed the police in the vain hope that someone might actually perform some speed checks to maybe also act as a deterrent. I know this isn't the first time someone has raised this problem, but I'm wondering who has to be run over to get someone to do something.

Updates
Still awaiting any form of response and since posting this we have had yet another accident outside our house where speed was the cause, bringing the total to three in two years right outside our front door never mind the rest of the road. I continue to chase for action and continue to be disgusted by the council, police and the idiots that speed up our road.
