Vehicles obstructing runway by parking on oposite side of road

Although I appreciate that traffic wardens have visited the street,I believe that this was mainly evenings, the problems are during the daytime, I have since had to go to a neighbours door as a visitor had obstructed the drive,whilst her one was empty and a parking space next to it as well and her response was "nothing to do with me, I don't drive", well of course that was not the issue! I would have thought the sign put up would have gone some way to deterring this from happening but obviously its ignorant and rude, also visitors going to No.65 have been parking opposite obstructing the exit too, this is a very narrow road which makes exiting safely a priority. The white line was a last resort to sort out these people and cost a lot of money, the attitude seems to be, "I can do what I want and to hell with you", it is time that parking on public pavements was made an offence and immediate fine, these were not made for car parking!

Here we go again! The black 4x4 brute obstructing the exit, phoned police reported it an hour later phoned again, then again, then again, the driver was asked politely if it was really necessary for her to park in that manner and up on a public pavement too which is not a parking space, when there was a space at her mothers driveway entrance for her vehicle so there is no excuse for it, nosey resident came out and stood and stared, these people could do no wrong and a heap of untruths were mouthed by her, making our way inside the mother came out her house yelling "Hey You, Hey You" she can park where she likes, who do you think you are, you dina own the road, you have given people a life of hell, when challenged about this she could not substantiate her tirade of abuse and said your just an idiot, when my mother said she does not talk to anyone so how could that be, she turned and threatened with the words, just wait till her man comes home, you will be sorry whilst pointing her finger, I asked if that was a threat, she went silent, then said your not worth speaking to, to which I replied, well I wouldnt lower myself to your standards, she made references to our cars and are they all taxed, to which I replied YES. How about the two cars she has in her driveway, looking online there are NO SORN DECLARATIONS for them so she should clean up her own doorstep before "--------" on mine. Still waiting for the Police though, will be seeing my solicitor about her behaviour though, not on that, making threats to people when they are in the wrong!!

Police have visited and CCTV images on video and photographs were shown to them, its upsetting to have to go to these extremes however,since their visit the area has been unobstructed with a bit of luck they now fully understand what KEEP CLEAR means and park respectfully in future.

Right, spoke too soon did I, silver car this morning (Monday)woman has went into Henry at 113 whose driveway is lying empty, the entrance is empty, there is also a vacant parking space between Nos 113 and 111. What is it about keep clear of my driveway that these people do not understand? She has came out of her house to put a tissue in her wheelie bin, sorry just cannot stand this anti-social behaviour any longer and asked her politely why that car is not parked in her driveway or outside it or in the vacant parking space, asked her to get it moved,again "as long as they are doing what they want then to hell with you" Murray across the road standing watching at window, this is being done on purpose to cause trouble,just instigators, sorry but I just cannot stand this anti social behaviour any longer,I said that I would be reporting it, she said please yer sel then, the police have just been here very recently so they obviously have no respect for authority either. Its not as if they are not aware as I have had to put a note through her letterbox before about this. The car was not moved either so that just proves the utter contempt coming from them. You need to be writing a letter to these people to put a stop to this.

Here we go again,(Monday)12.30pm, yet another car this time woman in at Bremner at No.56 who has a driveway, vacant space between No 113 and 111!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like I will have to resort to bollards either side of my driveway access which I paid a lot of money for,also the white T line warning,if this antisocial behaviour does not stop,then that will be this problem fixed as far as I am concerned.

Here we go again, this is another vehicle either picking or dropping someone who has a driveway here but obstructing my driveway then using my turning which I have paid hundreds of pounds for to turn in the road,I paid the council for the sole use of this household not for others to use,get those letters sent out, stop this victimisation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday,late afternoon,large white van driver goes next door, vacant space outside their house, where do they park? One guess? yeah across from my driveway fully parked on the public pavement,causing obstruction not the first time either or for just a quick 5-10mins but hours,then again on Tuesday,same thing Richard Irvine employee in at No 66 who has a driveway and space outside,yes,both empty!!! This can easily be fixed by police powers,get charges under the bylaws,according to the officers who visited me they were sending wardens round to monitor the street,where are they then????

Wish I could say I have a stress filled day, no, here we go again, blue car at 3pm obstructing my leaving the driveway I have paid hundreds of pounds for to aberdeen city council,where are they visiting? No.65, where are they parking their cars, yes up on the public pavement outside their house and their other car opposite at 121, their visitors car obstructing my exit at 115, when is something going to be done about this? Oh and YES there are parking spaces in the street they just cannot be bothered parking in them and WALKING, they prefer to make others lives a misery instead then pointing the finger as much to say WE are the the troublemakers, get the letters out to them pronto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just noted this site and post. I too have been having problems perhaps not as bad but bad enough.

I have been advised that there was a law passed 21 August 2009 that wardens can now ticket a vehicle obstructing a garage driveway with a dropped kerb.

I can confirm the Police are not helpful and turn up hours later. One Policeman expected me to wait outside in the pouring rain till they arrived, I am a young 60+. They did though one day turn up within 10 mins as it was a Porsche blocking the drive, they missed him though.

None of the powers to be consider these problems and cause matters to escalate. When will they ever get any common sense. Enough said.

I agree with Bazzer when he states that the powers that be cause matters to esculate, in my particular instance that is exactly what happened here, I had to resort to CCTV also put a laminated notice at the bottom of my fence in order to humiliate those who have been inflicting their disgusting tinky behaviour on me and my family for no good reason than to annoy,so everyone who passes could stop and read it and know exactly who the culprits in this street are and its not us!!! I could never put into words what I think of them but the Police protecting the likes of that is not right, they should be prosecuted, if it was me they would not hesitate I am sure. The only way there is any respite here is because we make sure that there is a car parked out in street until they get the message but I doubt they have a good enough brain for that to happen, thick is what they call it.

Is the public pavement opposite my driveway a recognised designated parking space? Thats how it is being habitually treated! There has been a little short-term improvement in Summer 2009 when Police finally responded, today has been especially bad though and its all kicking off again, as soon as our car left the road this huge white van appeared and just drove up the kerb onto the pavement quite the thing,the same yesterday. Now No.109 has started, construction van fully parked up on the pavement and it is obviously going to be left parked there overnight. This will need to be sorted once and for all. Allowing pavement parking encourages drivers to take the law into their own hands. Once people start doing this regularly, however reasonable it may seem to them to begin with,(its illegal) it soon gets out of hand and becomes unreasonable, have the authorities forgotten all about their "Zero Tolerance", Police are required not to show 'favour or affection' towards some and 'malice or ill-will' towards others, when are they going to take action?????

I would like to see a light at the end of this tunnel but unfortunately the latest trend now adopted here appears to be to drive their car up on to the public pavement and park there knowing full well the obstruction caused and think instead it is okay to do this as an alternative and nothing will be done about it, but think instead well i am up on the pavement so you cannot phone the police because I am being really good,you can get out your driveway now, I am not obstructing your exit anymore, I am on the pavement and not the road!" Perhaps these idots should think about maybe a mother with her pushchair or better still, the less fortunate than ourselves, someone who is partially sighted or blind for that matter, surely this constitues a breach of Health and Safety Regulations and parking in such a manner is downright ignorant and rude to those less able than ourselves who need the public pavement more than those who have an available driveway in which to park but choose not to. It disgusts me that this is being allowed and they seem to think it is okay. Something wrong with minds like that as far as I aqm concerned. Please get it sorted once and for all, maybe then I will get some peace of mind myself!!!!!!!!!!

Just came into the street at 5pm, here is the daughters jeep visiting No64, two wheels on the road, the rest parked on the public pavement (which is NOT A PARKING SPACE) opposite my drive,(not even across her own driveway turning) whilst the driveway at the house is lying empty!!!!!! As the driver saw our car she drove along the pavement onto the road, turned, then reversed into bottom of the drive,parked and went into No.64 who was watching from her window behind the curtain, this has been happening on a regular basis for months,I am quite sure she intended to leave the vehicle there but because we appeared and there was a witness with me who could verify thought otherwise, also no sooner had she left a black BMW appeared and was about to park up on the same spot at the wire fence on the pavement outside No 64, to do the same but changed his mind on seeing himself being watched with disgust but still did so by parking outside No.66 instead with two wheels on the road the rest on the public pavement, I am surprised this is being allowed to happen in the first place,someone telling them to I wonder??? the cockiness of the drivers is shocking, given that the rights of the disabled are being so blatantly compromised by their disgusting behaviour means nothing to them I have even seen these people sniggering and laughing about it because they think for some reason it is funny and that they are not doing anything wrong, perhaps a penalty ticket will wipe the grin off their ignorant faces! and yes they will keep doing this until hopefully a warden catches them unexpectedly SORT THEM OUT PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes still going on in this street, so NOTHING being done by the Powers that be!!!!!!!!

Just to set the record clear here, ouside my house at 115 you can park 2 cars with reasonable consideration for eveyone else in the street, my late husband used to park and leave a space for others, that is until it all became nasty by other residents who because of the inconsiderate parking of others who had driveways in the street, his bumper being an inch over their turning, this one particular neighbour sent Police to our door, she even had an illegal pavement turning too! and it all started from there. She laid down the Poison and started a chain reaction throughout others, her sole aim was to cause an assassination of character on ourselves which is still ongoing today, I for one am not going to tolerate behaviour directed towards me and my family which is nothing more than harrassment. KEEP CEAR OF MY DRIVEWAY AND PROPERTY go and do it to your other neighbours, see how they like it OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You all should be so proud of yourselfs,NOT! talk about anti-social behaviour, try living in this street!!!!!!!!!!!

Here we go again, Taxi reversing into my driveway to turn in the road, where is he going to pick up, 123 who has a driveway. guy comes out of their house into Taxi parked up on the public pavement, says it all!!!!!!!!
