Traffic speed/crossings

Traffic along Summer Row and Sand Pits Parade tends to go very quickly, certainly above the speed limit. This is dangerous for pedestrians, particularly when the crossings are so inadequate - the lights near Newhall Hill take far too long to change and people, including numerous Police vehicles I've seen, don't stop for pedestrians waiting at the zebra crossing near Cambridge street. We need speed cameras and better crossings. I've personally seen three people hit by cars on the zebra crossing and had a few near misses myself. The situation is not helped by speed signs on Paradise Circus and Sand Pits contradicting each other.
