Verge cutting
Reported by Mrs Crawford at 16:54, Thu 2 July 2009
Sent to Buckinghamshire County Council and Chiltern District Council less than a minute later
Cokes Lane is a narrow road and because we, as residents, have mown the vision splay grass area at the junction of Doggetts Wood Lane with Cokes Lane the Council reckon that the area does not need further attention. However the verge south of Doggetts Wood Lane, along Cokes Lane down to its junction with the A413 is badly overgrown preventing pedestrians from using the verge to walk along making it extremely dangerous for them. Had the Council ensured that when Southern Electric dug up the verge a year or so ago it had been reinstated properly we would have continued to mow the verge as we used to do but we don't want to damage our own mower blades doing the work of the Council. In addition, until the Council cuts back the grass we cannot get access to our hedge to cut it

Updates
The Council have now cut the first metre along the verge. There are a lot of thistles and ragwort in the area which remains uncut and the bad news is that they have now gone to see and no doubt will be dispersing onto our land. We have notified the Council of this second problem and they have said that they are looking into the problem generally within the County but no action has been taken.
