Britton St used as a race track by Post Office vans

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Simon Needham at 18:40, Mon 29 June 2009
Sent to Islington Borough Council 4 minutes later

Unlike almost every other road user on Britton Street, the drivers of Post Office vans race their vehicles down this street as fast as they can. By the time they're approaching the end of the street they're clearly breaking the speed limit and the noise generated by their diesel vans accelerating down the street is extremely disturbing. Ultimately, the reckless way their vans are driven through Britton St is dangerous.

Hi, I agree with Simons mail from the 29th of June and am convinced that one day a customer of the Jerusalem Tavern will get killed by one of the racing idiots in Britton Street. Regards Paul

It'll all change soon. Islington council have planned to change the direction of travel along Cowcross Street and Turnmill Street, so everyone can race along there instead.

Post Ofice vans no longer treated like Lambos. Due to numerous potholes in Tunrmill street. Plenty of people crossing the street though, maybe they can score points that way!
