Grass verge

Reported anonymously at 14:52, Mon 22 June 2009
Sent to Birmingham City Council 3 minutes later

I live on lea village, kitts green, birmingha.I have been on at the council for a year and a half about this subject.I asked them if they could put up low fencing or bollards.I have a neighbour across the road, that now has two pick up trucks and a car.He parkks the pickup trucks with cars on the back of them,on the grass verge in front of my house. He thinks its his own private working space and im sick of it.The grass verge is now ruined and such a mess,we now have other people parking there while they go to the shops down the road.I own my own houseand if i wanted to sell it who would want to bye it now.

In connection with the issue of vehicles parking on the grass verges, the bylaws that were in place via Birmingham City Council, to stop the parking on grass verges, have long been expired. From a Police perspective on the matter, officers are only authorised to issue a Fixed Penalty Notice for parking, if the vehicle in question is causing an obstruction, for example, if it were parked over a dropped kerb or blocking the pavement. Unless the vehicle is parked in a position that obstructs the pavement, where others cannot easily gain access past the vehicle, our officers cannot issue a ticket as they have an increasingly strict remit as to what they can issue for. This is an issue that can be brought up with Council Officials or Councillors at your local Ward Meetings. For more information on local meetings you can contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0845 113 5000, extention:7601 6373 or on e-mail: d3_nhp_glebelea@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk.

This problem is far from being fixed, its even worse now,he has no right being on this side of the road anyway. He has driven over the bin bags that have been left out for bin men and they wont take them cause the rubbish is all over the street we had to go out and bag it all up again.HE HAS NO RESPECT AT ALL.Still need help with this problem why should we have to put up with this.you can see his house across the road.PLEASE SOMEONE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.
