Cars blocking my drive

Our house is the last house on this side of the street, before the green and trees start, with a driveway. There are some very faded white diagonal lines painted in the road in front of our drive which should deter people from blocking our drive, but they do not. People park right in front of our drive or park in such a way that makes it impossible to get our car on or off the drive. This tends to happen on a daily basis, but is worse in the evening. We regularly have to delay going out until we can get off the drive. The people who practice this inconsiderate parking are both other people who live in the street and their visitors (whose cars we don't recognise). We only moved into our house less than a year ago, and we have requested twice for these lines to be repainted, and we have heard nothing more about it. Having to go around knocking on doors to request that people move their cars has made us late for both appointments and work, and we dread to think what we would do if there was an emergency. We appreciate that there is not much parking in our street, but we are unsure of what else we can do.
