Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 16:16, Tue 19 May 2009
Sent to Colchester Borough Council 4 minutes later

Monkwick Avenue and other areas on estate. Cars are parking on grass verges and damaging grass and shrubs and other plants. Grassed area by houses 31 -37 Monkwick Ave cars and large vans are driving onto grass without there being dropped kerb access and damaging grass and trees. The council tenants on estate are paying grounds maintenance fees for upkeep of these areas so want to keep them in good condition.

Theproblem still exists in many areas of the estate. There is strong feeling among many council tenants that they are being charged grounds maintenance on their rent and private home owners do not contribute towards this but are damaging the grass verges and bushes. The local councillor is aware of situation but has no answers so far. Some young people have been stopped from riding mini motor bikes on grassed areas and see this as equally anti social behaviour.
