Speed

Reported by Penny Johnson at 08:43, Fri 15 May 2009
Sent to Leeds City Council 1 minute later

New Street has an Infant School, a Nursery, a Doctors' office, a church, many houses, a dangerous curve, and now a huge retail outlet. People use it as a racetrack and occasional car park. Council has promised traffic-calming measures and parking restrictions but nothing ever happens.

School will be starting soon and I have seen no moves to control not only the speed of the traffic on New Street but also the irresponsible parking at junctions and on curves, especially morning and afternoon.

I don't believe it! They have put speed restrictions in neighbouring streets - and they STOP at New Street, the street with the school, the nursery, the doctors' office, the sheltered housing and the church. It is as dangerous as ever - and the new school year has just started. I give up.

Nothing has been done. I have contacted the councillors on a number of occasions and am always fobbed off with some feeble answer. Pathetic.
