Dangerous parking

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 12:57, Tue 12 May 2009
Sent to Gateshead Borough Council 2 minutes later

This is a BLIND CORNER, & many vehicles come round the corner on the wrong side of the road! For 99% of the time, there are vans & cars parked on this corner & on the path (so people & pushchairs have to use the road of the blind corner) - there is an accident waiting to happen. Parking should be further down the road on the straight part. I have reported this to the police on three occasions in the past year, & nothing seems to have been done about it. I have on at least 12 occasions in the last six months nearly been hit head on (in my car) on this corner! Often vehicles are parked & their drive is unoccupied!

Since reported to police - problem has eased very slightly, but is still there. Have only had 1 near head-on collision in the last week, rather than the usual 3 or 4. Van (whose drive is vacant) is still breaking law by completely blocking path on blind corner.

Just as bad (sometimes worse)as ever. Police also informed & they were a complete waste of time. I have had two near head on collisioons this week!!!!!!
