School Parents Parking

I live opposite the school gates and yes the parents parking is a pain for 15 minutes twice a day at 9am and 3pm. However a neighbour of ours keeps reporting this problem to the point that we now have police patrolling at these times. There is now talk of double yellows being put down or resident parking permints. I would like to strongly oppose either of these actions being taken. Could you please put me in touch with the correct people to do this.
