Green Lane Issues

Reported by Marvyn Candler at 20:44, Wed 15 April 2009
Sent to Norfolk County Council and Breckland District Council 1 minute later

Inadequate lighting, lane is almost pitch black in the dark. Inadequate cycle markings. Dog walkers using extended dog leads, stretched dangerously across the pathway. Dogs off leash also a problem. Pathway is also in very poor condition. Becomes a swamp after heavy rain. Improved lighting, better signage, lane needs resurfacing with cycle marks clearly marked. Safety information for dog walkers needs to be displayed at various points along path.

This issue has not gone away. The problem with dog walkers with extending dog leads is a huge issue here. Considering this is a dual cycle path, signage informing dog walkers to keep dogs on a tight leash is essential. Why hasn't this been done?

I haven't personally noticed any major issues with dog walkers, but the path condition after heavy rain is definitely still an issue. The first 5-10 metres immediately south of Mallow Road is one of the worst bits.

There are also no lights along the path, making it unsafe to use at night.

Still no change here.

With two attacks on women in the last two years along this lane, it really is about time better lighting was installed at least. The people that live in this area pay their council tax and deserve better.
