Environmental/Pollution Hazzard

Reported anonymously at 11:42, Tue 17 March 2009
Sent to Cumbria County Council and Copeland Borough Council 2 minutes later

For a number of years a gentleman was living in a succession of caravans and temporary accommodation on land at The Lund. During that time a load of rubbish has accumulated there which has now become a hygiene problem for the area. Refuse was never collected by the local authority, and there were no permanent toilet facilities for the caravans. A subsequent fire on the site further exacerbated the problem. The caravans need to be removed together with a number of piles of rubbish that have accumulated as the area is now a breeding ground for vermin. The gentleman is no longer living there and I believe has permanently been taken into care by the local council. Urgent action is now required at this location.

In fact if anything the problem is much worse as vandals are attacking the caravans and everything seems to be very much in a mess. I wish the council would do something about the problem.
