Longlands road, sidcup is a menace of a road to cross. This road is used by school children to access local schools and there is also a park which, trying to go to one day with my partner I was hit by a car whilst trying to cross the road. The car had been stationary when I stepped into the road. My partner then chased the driver to the traffic lights. The driver went through a red light to avoid getting caught. There are no cameras on these lights, which would have been a huge help in catching the hit and run criminal. There are also problems with joy racers speeding up Longlands road which, not only cause a noise problems at unwelcome hours in a densely residential area, but also putting a lot of lives at risk. I am very surprised to see that there are no crossings anywhere near this road and residence have to put their lives in danger crossing at the busy junction between Longlands road and Station road. I seriously think these roads are long over due for pedestrian crossings and speed calming measures. These problems have also been reported to community support police.
