Excessive litter

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 18:44, Mon 16 February 2009
Sent to Amber Valley Borough Council less than a minute later

Litter blowing from the Sainsbury's superstore is disfiguring the local area. There are orange Sainsbury's plastic bags stuck in trees and the roadside is strewn with litter all the way down to the A38 roundabout (not necessarily all from Sainsbury's). A company such as Sainsbiry's making a large profit from the local community should surely be required to give something back by investing in solutions to this problem and held accountable to the negative impact they are having on the once pleasant surrounding countryside.

problem remains

Posted by Teresa James at 08:39, Mon 23 March 2009

The stretch of A38 from Ripley to Mansfield is a disgrace. There is polythene and litter all over the trees and verges, particularly near Swanwick which makes what should be a pleasant drive through countryside - an eyesore!
