Enormous potholes

The potholes outside my house now stretch across the width of the drive, are about 10" wide at the largest point, and 4" deep. Every car that uses the lane makes a thumping noise that is audible over the TV as it hits the pothole. Last night when I arrived home, the drive had been showered in debris from the pothole, the largest piece being larger than a golfball. This requires urgent remedial work (more than just a 'bucket of tar') before someone is injured, or more damage is done to property (I have already had a headlamp broken).

No thanks to the council, who only turned out when they were notified by the police. This was after a motorist had his suspension destroyed when he drove into the pothole.
