Footpath from Poynton Station along Chester Road

This footpath is a disgrace and very dangerous to walk along, particularly in the dark, and particularly at the point where the path begins at the end of the station approach, where there is no clear delineation between road and footpath because the kerb has dropped and the path is very narrow. The surface from this point to Hazelbadge Road is particularly unpleasant when it is wet as it is full of puddles. A further danger on this pavement is cyclists, who are encouraged to cross the bridge on the pavement when heading towards Poynton because of the end of the cycle lane on the other side of the bridge and remain on the pavement after crossing the station approach, often riding at speed towards Hazelbadge Road causing great problems to pedestrians headed in the other direction.

This pavement has been in this condition for at least the eight years that I have lived in Poynton and as far as I am aware has received no remedial work whatsoever.
