Brown car. It already has a notice attached to it dated 23/12/08! How come the car is still there on 8/2/08?

Can you confirm if the vehicle is on a public highway?
I have run some checks on the vehicle it has a current SORN in force and it not shown as being stolen.
It is in John Burns Drive parked in the road. Don't know if that counts as a public Highway or an estate road. The notice is stuck on the windscreen, driver's side; the car has not been moved since before Christmas
I would try contacting your local police and inform them that this vehicle is declared as SORN and is on a public road.

What might be complicating the issue is the vehicle is not unlicensed.
It is declared as SORN (off the road) which means as well as the VEL issue, they also need to look at reporting the keeper for making a false declaration to the DVLA (SORN declaration)
It might be worth having a word with your local police / roads policing unit and informing them that the vehicle is SORN and on a public highway.
