Blockage of access to property

Reported in the Car parking category by Mrs L Millard at 13:30, Wed 28 January 2009
Sent to Chelmsford Borough Council 5 minutes later

Parking in the top end of Anderson Avenue has got out of hand, it is getting to the stage where residents cannot get onto their driveways because of parking by people taking their children to the nearby nursery. One resident has already had her car damaged by an inconsiderate parent. The Police said they would deal with it but nothing has been done. A child will be injured or killed before the council will even think about doing anything. The residents are really fed up with the lack of concern by the council/police/highways.

Absolute waste of time. Colin Barford of the Council came back and told me to report it to the Police. What Police, all we have is PSO's and it is no good reporting it to them. They have no clout. I suppose when a child is maimed or killed then the Council will act, until then we have not a hope in hell of resolving the problem. A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

I would point out that a petition was raised and signed by over 80 people and handed to the Police and the Council over 3 years ago, but nothing was done - nobody was interested.

What is the point of you continuing to ask if anything has been done about my problem. Nothing has nor will it be done. Nobody is interested. The council and Police are next to useless.

As I told you before you and I are wasting our time over this issue. Not only is the parking out of hand, but the speed of the traffic through Anderson Avenue is horrendous. The worst offenders are young motorists and motor cycle riders. Unless someone is killed nothing will be done - if then.

A complete waste of time
