Derelict mill on Brown Street

Will the mill be left to its own devices until eventually somebody is killed inside, or until it falls down of its own accord? Currently, it's used by drug users and is littered inside with related paraphernalia. It is used by young children as a play area. the perimeter is being used for fly tipping. Structurally it is unsafe, with parts of the roof collapsing every time we experience bad weather, and also there are cracks in the structure which I could get my hand into. It's attracting gangs of youths. The scaffolding surround it is rotting, with particular reference to the wooden planks. It's an eyesore which the council should be ashamed of. Anybody living near it cannot sell their homes, and furthermore it's knocking thousands off the value of our homes. Is there anything good to say about it? Aaahh yes...It's grade2 listed. Well correct me if I'm wrong but, don't we have a duty to 'conserve' such buildings rather than leave them in such a sorry and bewildering state for five years? I've chosen to contact you this way because all previous and direct complaints have been ignored whether from myself or surrounding neighbours.

My email was forwarded to "The relevant department" 4 weeks ago by a team memeber from Macclesfield council. I am yet to receive a full reply from them, as per usual. Macclesfield council seem keen to brush this matter under the carpet, as they have done for the last five years.
