Overgrown hedgerow

Reported anonymously at 22:26, Fri 16 January 2009
Sent to Alnwick District Council and Northumberland County Council 4 minutes later

Overgrown hedgerow causing problems for pedestrians using public footpath. This is the only walking route between Lookout or Hawkhill and Lesbury, and also gives access to the river via a stile and footpath. Because the hedge has grown over the roadside verge, people are forced to walk on road where the visibility is poor and traffic often exceeds the speed limit. Problem has existed for several years.

Despite the assistance of a (very good)local councillor, this problem has not been fixed, and the County Council have ignored requests to remedy the problem. The problem has got worse in that the hedge has also grown over the footpath further along between Grayhurst House and Lesbury
