Sunken Road Surface

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 14:47, Fri 16 January 2009
Sent to Bedfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

The road surface has significantly sunk on the north-east side of Stratton Way between Potton Road and Boddington Gardens. There is also often a smell of drains in the immediate are so there is possibly sewer damage as well as a result of the subsidence.

The council did make a contact and said the road would be inspected; I have received no feedback as a result. The road is now cracking across the whole width in the area of the subsidence. To drivers, be very careful and keep your speed down well below 30mph - it is dangerous here.

Bedfordshire County Council maintain that the road hasn't sunk but is just wear and tear. Try driving over it and see if you agree.
