Excessive dog fouling

Hi, I have counted four piles of dog excrement on the verges outside 18 and 20 buckingham road this morning. Is there anything that can be done to discourage dog owners? This has been a problem for some time but recently has become intolerable with two young children having to dodge the poo each time they go through the gate.

No obvious indication that the problem has been addressed. Must add that it's not a localised problem - Shoreham is awash with dog excrement.
