Obstructed pedestrian/cycle Hospital entrance.
Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 20:04, Tue 3 September 2013
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 384194.
Southmead Hospital Pedestrian Entrance: The small gate on the Kendon Drive entrance to Southmead Hospital is often partially blocked by cars. Also, the kerbs are not dropped, and there are trip hazards inside the gate which make it particularly hazardous or impossible for disabled access.

I would add that it is also obstructed with smokers so pedestrians and and cyclists have to first attract their attention from their mobile phone fugue states so they make space to pass, then hold their breaths to avoid a lungfull of their pollutants!

The council did send me an email to say that they were going to check the issue.
I have yet to hear the outcome.Posted anonymously at 20:35, Tue 1 October 2013

No change. The hospital entrance remains obstructed, an hard to use for pedestrians or cycles. If a major revamp is in the hospital redevelopment plans, they haven't publicised it very well.

The council carried out an inspection, and got back to me. [Pretty good really].
Unfortunately they report that the entrance is the responsibility of the hospital, not the council.
I wonder if the same is true for all the other roads in the complex, used by employees, the public, buses....Posted anonymously at 18:34, Sun 1 December 2013

Problem not Fixed. The Council has responded and communicated OK: they have visited the site, and determined that the problem lies with Southmead Hospital, and is not under council control.
They were unable to say exactly who is responsible.
Sort of surprising since the public and public transport (buses) use the site.Posted anonymously at 11:03, Mon 30 December 2013
