Dog Fouling/Installation of Dog Waste Bin

I have 2 dogs and I walk around Lobley Hill every day - I always pick up any dog mess they create, despite there being no dog waste bin in the area, I take it home with me. There is a serious problem of dog fouling in the area, especially on Pinewood Gdns/Rothbury Gdns - nr the primary school has a real problem with people leaving dog mess here, which is then walked in by school children. It is disgusting and may be the placement of a dog waste bin would help the problem, as well as warnings of fines to offenders. I have noticed that someone walking their dog late morning/early afternoon is a serious offender - perhaps a patrol could be arranged to try to catch the culprit.

I received a phone call from Gateshead Council to inform me that no further bins could be provided in the area as they felt there was sufficient. They no longer provide bins solely for dog waste. I was told that my complaint had been forwarded on to the Dog Warden responsible for the area and that he may drive around the area to try to spot offenders. I have not received any further update.
