Flooding

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category by Mr P.Bates at 12:41, Sat 13 December 2008
Sent to Dudley Borough Council 4 minutes later

Part of our house has been flooded five times this year due to lack of drainage and the camber of the road. I reported this to the council and the existing drain nearest our house was cleaned aproximately four weeks ago. However last night (12.12.08) we were flooded again. The camber of road means that all of the road surface water congregates outside our property. Because the drain cannot cope with this ammount of water it overspills across the pavement and down my drive and into my property causing part of the house to be flooded.

The drains have been cleaned and the gutters have been swept. However only last saturday 17/01/09 we were flooded yet again due to heavy rain and the problem has not been resolved. I can only say that to stop the build up of rain water from directly outside our house, would be to install another drain on the opposite side of the road towards Kitiwake drive, which is where the flow of water comes from.
