Double yellow lines needed

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 14:57, Tue 9 December 2008
Sent to Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council 2 minutes later

At the bottom of Pelham Street, cars parked on the single yellow lines make it almost impossible for cars to pass each other and totally impossible if a bus or lorry is coming the other way. The traffic would flow so much better if the whole section had double yellow lines on both sides.

Hi - I submitted the original complaint. Here's the unhelpful response I got back from the council which sort of misses the point of this service:

"Hi ***, thank you for your email pointing out the problems at Pelham Street. Unfortunately RBKC just cannot change lining as requested by residents: there would need to be a change to the “Traffic Order” to alter any lines from single yellow to double yellow lines or any other alterations to parking restrictions, this would require consultations and councillors approval. If you would like more information please contact Kirk Deane, in parking department. Regards ***
