Pigeon Waste

There is a sizeable amount of uncleared pigeon waste accumulating on all of the peaked roofs which lean onto the shopping precinct of Ashton Square. This is the case along the whole length of Ashton Square from the old Poundstretcher store on West Street, right along to Farmfoods.

There seems to be a lack of accountability as to who is responsible for clearing this although South Beds County Council, as landlords, should be favourite to maintain these buildings.

This is not only a health hazard to shoppers, who are constantly peppered with debris as pigeons disturb it, but has now lead to the guttering filling with a build up that it now causing an overflow of water, on the corner of Farmfoods and Martins.

This area is disgusting to look at and any potential occupant of the many empty units in this area would surely be put off by the waste that is there for all to see.

Can this be cleansed as a matter of public health and the budget to put new plant pots a street level, in this area, is surely an unnecessary waste of public money that could be spent of enhancing the public safety of the area.
