Abandoned Volvo

A old red Volvo estate car has been left abandoned in our communal car park, opposite Number 44 Deerhurst Chase, for about 2 months now, it's tax is out of date and it has a flat tyre so obviously is not being used. The registration is D351TJN. Many thanks.

I reported this vehicle to the council and they more or less said it was not their problem as the car is not on the public highway but in a private car park. The vehicle is still dumped and has not moved.

No one seems to know who's car it is and no one in authority seems to care, so it still sits in the car park causing an eyesore and getting in the way !!!

Use this form on the Chelmsford Borough Council website to automatically report it as abandoned: http://www.chelmsford.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=10298

You can also contact the DVLA to report it as being "on the road" but "without tax" so they can trace/fine the owner. http://dvla.gov.uk/onlineservices/report_unlicensed.aspx?ext=dg

Worked for me a few months ago - one got shifted in days!

Hi Mark, Yes, the said vehicle is still dumped in the same place and has not moved.It has now been joined by a red Fiesta Reg M348WNO, which has been there for 3 weeks now and also has an expired tax disc.

The Fiesta has a SORN in force, do you know if this has the land owners permission for being parked there? The Fiesta is not showing as lost / stolen on the PNC.

Thanks Mark. Regarding the fiesta, I'm not sure as no one seems to know who it belongs to, but I doubt it has the land owners permission !! Cheers.

The police have attended the vehicle and replaced the Stolen marker on PNC with a found marker.

It maybe that they are leaving it up to the owner to arrange removal.
