The road vibration form HGV's and speeding traffic is becoming unbearable, even through the night, making sleep impossible. The road condition all the way along the High Street is very poor.

This remains a problem especially during the night, what is being done about it?
As far as I know absolutely nothing. I have exhausted all lines of enquiry and got nowhere. It needs the whole village to pull together (although I know this has happened on the past) and complain on mass to the parish council etc.
I have emailed the CC to ask how to complain will post results. Not sure how to get everyone in the village to pull together do you know if the parish council has done anything about this already?
This note is from the PC on 2nd Feb: The Parish Council entirely agree with your comments. Because of the lack of action by the County Council we are at present paying for a survey to conclude what exactly should be undertaken in the village and when completed –March we hope a public meeting will be held to endorse or otherwise in view of substantial costs being involved. We have tried for numerous years to stop the heavy lorries but have come across barriers and no help at all from the Traffic Commisioners who sanction their presence within F & G and neighbouring Parishes.
Also see link http://www.braf.org.uk/Documents/Parish_plans/flitton_greenfield.pdf for Parish Plan Dec 08 to see community plan sent to PC.
I asked for a survey to be undertaken last summer my contact at the Council was Ian Tyres. I am unable to attach the results on this site as it is an excel file. These results are over a one week period although the survey was done over a two weeks I did not receive the second weeks results. Perhaps you could compare this with your recent information. I am aware of several people who would be interested in becoming involved in any action that would reduce this sort of traffic through the village.
If you would like these results please let me know and I'll set up a blog site.
It seems that there have been depots opening up in Poulloxhill which cater for pallet transportation, not sure if there is any benefit in contacting them directly.
Pallet transportation company (Woodrush/Palletex)is definitely trading out of Pulloxhill. One of their lorries 'flew' through Greenfield tonight at 19.03 making house vibrate, as it does ever night!!!!
Would be interested in being involved in any action which addresses the following:- 1)Condition of roads 2)Traffic calming measures (chiccane).....we could make our own by parking cars on the road 3)Addressing lorries over 7.5T using road as a rat run
I'm in total sympathy, my house is off the High Street but Im still affected.A few of us are meeting on Friday 17th if you would like to join us.We are preparing a petition and action plan.
That would be grat I'd like to be involved, i know a couple of more people who may also be intrested if you are happy to give me the time and venue.
My phone number is 712688 if you would like to call for details.
