Dear Mr Moore,

I acknowledge your emails of the 17th January.

Once again these relate to County and Local Government issues and I really would be grateful if you would be good enough to address enquiries of this kind to the appropriate quarter in future.

For your information transport, highways, education and Social Services are all County Council issues and I am sure that your two County Councillors, Jean Law and David Hurst, will be more than pleased to assist with street light outages as these are dealt with by EDF under contract to Kent County Council.

The matter relating to the memorial park pond is a Local Government issue and there are three City Councillors representing the Heron Ward in which the memorial park is located. I am, in this instance, passing a copy of your letter relating to street lights to Jean Law but again for future reference if you wish to raise matters relating to street lighting then it is necessary to provide the actual number from the lamps that are not working in order that they may be identified by the electricity company.

I am passing a copy of your letter relating to the memorial park pond to the Leader of Canterbury City Council, John Gilbey.

With my best wishes.

Yours sincerely,

ROGER GALE MP

No problem is not fixed.

Dspite a response from the MP, just passing the buck to Cllr Gilbey, I have heard nothing and the pond remains in the same filthy state.

two months on since I wrote to my MP who passed it back to the Council and still they have not replied or more importantly cleaned out the pond.

Dear Councillor Gilbey. I note from the fixmystreet portal that in January 2009 our MP Roger Gale passed on a complaint from a resident about the state of the Pond in the Memorial Park.

A number of problems areas were inspected following a walk about of Herne Bay last week and the Memorial Park Pond has clearly not received any attention since the November 2008 complaint of debris in the Pond and foul smells. Canterbury City Council are responsible for the upkeep of the Memorial park from taxpayers funds (and other sources) and we would be grateful to receive your firm prposal to clean the pond
