Smokers in non-smoking hopsital site

There are always smokers (patients and relatives) who congregate by the main entrance of the John Radcliffe. This is a completely non-smoking site, and the many users of the hospital should not be subjected to clouds of cigarette smoke as they enter and leave.

I received a couple of replies from council people saying correctly it was not their problem. I subsequently wrote to the NHS Trust, and received a pleasant and personal letter back from a Deputy Director of Human Resources. This letter said that an effort would be made to enforce the rule, and more signs would be put up.
If it isnt bad enough that us smoker has been chucked outside but now we are being told where we have to do it so is this person aying that if you want a ciggie us smokers have to walk all the way down the drive before we can have one. I think that is a tad unfair specially for vistors who are visiting very sick relative and even patients who can go outside for a ciggie. If you want to start this then why have the surgeons got there own smoking rooms inside the hospital when there is a no smoking policy or is it one rule for them and one rule for us. Sounds like thats the case to me. Next we wont be able to breath without either being taxed for it or told when we can and cant do it we will all soon be robots doing what the government or the goody to shoes want and have no say of our own - i thought freedom of speech is in this country but it sounds like it isnt to me.
