Insuffient Bicycle Parking

There is insuffient bicycle parking around this location meaning people have to use lamposts all the time.
At the junction between Dowgate hill and Lower Thames street is a small pedistrian walk through. There are currently a couple of cycle 'staples' to lock bikes too. More would be welcome.
Similarly if you walk along Cousin Lane there is a huge lack of places to lock up a bike.
These are ideal places in which to put cycle facilities because they are always under CCTV monitoring.
You wouldn't have to add extra cameras.

Updates
Cycle parking in this area is a disaster. Every single lamp-post usually has 2 or more bikes chained to them, which is an annoying obstruction on the street for pedestrians.
The few official bike-racks that exist are always completely full. That is why people are forced to use less appropriate means of securing their bikes.
I agree with the poster above - the area at the junction of Dowgate Hill and College Street is an excellent location for more secure bike parking.
Not only is this a cycle-parking hot-spot, it also has excellent coverage of CCTV cameras.
Thanks
I cycle into work and always have trouble trying to find a space to chain my bike to. A number of my collegues are about to start cycling to work as well. It will soon be a nightmare for cyclists. More bike racks are needed in this area urgently.
Please improve the cycle parking in this area, there are many cyclists in our building wanting to secure their bikes outside - I don't want to rely on the flimsy tree. The City's got 'loadsa money', ' should be able to stretch to a few more bike parking spots. Plus, Old Mayor Kenneth is all up for cycling right?
"More bikes, less cars."
I entirely agree. The number of proper cycle racks was barely sufficient through the winter, but as soon as the sun comes out and more people jump on their bikes the facilities are totally overwhelmed.
The Thames Street end of Dowgate Hill (closed to traffic already, and pretty much dead space) or the recently refurbished Steelyard Passage under the station at Cousin Lane are both ideal spaces for more dedicated cycle parking.
Offer of 4 extra staples has been withdrawn.
It will be another 2-3 years because of building work for any staples to be provided.
Just a follow up as to why the work will not be done - yet.
Cannon street is going to be redeveloped. This area is going to be used as part of the development.
Once it is finished, the corporation will look at it again
