Speeding motorists - a regular occurrence

Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
Every single day I hear and see cars speeding down my road. I brought this up with a local police officer, who said that everyone she had spoken to on my road had also told her about this.
There is a school on my road, there are 'SLOW' signs, and the speed limit is 30mph. As cars park on both sides of the street, and this is a busy and easy through road to other areas, all the cars speed as quickly as they can so as to get down the road quickly.
I have often seen cars going over 40-50 mph. I am very worried for the children who live and walk down this road. I have seen three dead cats on the road in the last month.
Also, I have only lived here two years, but on three occasions I have had to call the police because I have heard a car speed down my road and then heard a police car carrying straight on, not knowing they had even come down my road at all.
Please help.
Thankyou.
