Overgrown Trees

Reported in the Trees category by P Atkinson at 14:49, Sun 27 July 2008
Sent to Leeds City Council 1 minute later

The trees in this area tower above neighbouring residential properties and their gardens and desperately need cutting back. There is a public footpath that cuts through it in which daylight is limited on dull days as the trees are so dense.

A 3rd of the grounds of Potternewton Heights, Chapel Allerton is completely neglected and has been left to grow wild.

It gets left whenever the contract gardeners come to cut grass & has been happening for the past eight months. (the most recent visit was yesterday)

It has resulted in the whole area becoming a complete eyesore, strewn with litter and there is now a rodent infestation.

The area is directly next to residential properties and a sheltered housing complex and needs urgent attention.

To my knowledge, three other residents have complained to the Council over the past month, to no avail.

We have had contact from the council who state that they are waiting for a quote from the Forestry commision. This was four weeks ago. The tree's are still causing terrible problems for local residents.
