The bottom of Parc Aberconwy is a right mess compared to the rest of the street which is reasonably well maintained, part of the problem is the council recycling workers use the turn round area as a kind of re sorting the rubbish out and leave all kinds of broken plastic, glass, bits of paper on the road and pavement. This get blown about giving an air of neglect.
Added to the problem the street cleaning machines don’t clean all the gutters and paving stones so soil weeds build up breaking up the surface, the drains get blocked and sometimes flooding occurs if there is a sudden downpour.
I’ve spoken to residents who say its been an on going problem, made worst by recent introduction of recycling. In the past they themselves have cleaned up the mess, but have been told not to do so in the future cause of H&S concerns.
I am complaining now as just discovered why I have lost 3 van tyres in the last year, I use the turn round circle and am picking up broken glass, & plastic in my tyres. The tyre fitters have shown me bits of broken plastic from a aerosol container. I visited on foot the area several times this year and the same rubbish remains and counted over 20 small pieces of glass, plastic and other recycled containers this after the street has been sweeper elsewhere

Updates
Just not been tidyed up, although one side the weeds have seemed to be killed off by something. Still glass on the road and other items
I complained about the mess left by recycling, on 26th sept 2008 the whole pavement has been RESURFACED on the whole bottom part of Parc Aberconwy. I was not complaining about the surface as did not think it was that bad. So all the mess has been cleaned up. I would like to think this is part due to sites like this, as past complaints to councilors and DCC has fallen on deaf ears and have in the past refused to descuss it with us
