Deep water by crossing

Reported in the Road or pavement defect category by Stan Collins at 22:42, Tuesday 24 January 2012
Sent to Transport For London Street Management 3 minutes later

There was deep water extending more than half a metre into the road at the crossing making it impossible for older or disabled people to cross without paddling. Pedestrians had to keep back several metres because of the splashing also making it more difficult for the old and disabled.

Updates

  • I only visit London a couple of times per month. This occurred during very wet weather and I haven't passed there since when it was raining.

  • The problem occurred with heavy rain; there has not been any when I've been there since. The council is doing a lot of work at that junction but I don't know whether this is intended to or will alleviate the problem. Sorry I can't be of more help.

  • I haven't seen it since I reported it when there has been heavy rain, so no way to tell. Quite a lot of work was being done on that road crossing when last I visited London.
