Beggars Belief

Reported in the Abandoned vehicles category by David Tester at 17:39, Sun 23 January 2011
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council 1 minute later

An official notice has been placed on a white van, L352JSS parked in a parking space on Claymore Avenue, the notice is asking if anyone knows the owner, which beggars belief and explains why the Police and council are so remiss in removing untaxed abandoned vehicles. The vehicle in question has been there for over five years and belongs to the guy whose house it is parked outside of.Didn't they think to ask him, he bought it at the car mart five years ago with the intention of turning it into a camper van. He goes by the name of Shearer. While the council are at it removing the van they could remove his lobster pots and hopefully the rat population at the same time.

  • Well sat and watched from window a real farce, council arrived to remove this van [well done council] so sat back with my coffee to watch proceedings, council drag van across Claymore and it stops dead, wheels are flat and brakes are locked, remember no one has claimed ownership of this van. Well a bellow from "the owner" what the hell you doing with my van, a notice is handed to him by the council chap, and a row gets up,much aggro back and fore, the van is stuck where it is across the road. After several phone calls the van has to be forcibly pushed back to whence it came. Mr Shearer is apopletic by this time, all signs of his limp appear to have disappeared, odd that. The council chaps get back into their van with a well we will be back, Mr Shearers retort is will you now well better bring your own ambulance. So he denied all knowledge of this van until it was being removed, what now council.

  • Van is now blocked in by a red van belonging to owner of white van. The windows are smashed and kids are playing inside it. If there is an accident will the council be blamed for not removing this eyesore
