Illegal Bonfires

Reported by Local Resident at 15:08, Thu 31 January 2008
Sent to Carmarthenshire Council 2 minutes later

Local youths have been lighting bonfires at this spot which is a green area next to a wooden fence. They are burning plastic rubbish sacks, breaking off tree branches to feed the fire, and taking rubber tyres from nearby garages to make the fire burn. This problem has been investigated once by police and council officers and the youths were warned but they are continuig to do it, usually in the evening when they think no-one can see them.

The bonfire remains are still there, with new rubbish on them. The same boys have been reported for vandalism and harassment of local residents

the bobnfires have now moved to the garden of the last house on the side opposite from the original bonfire. The tenant is still burning plastic bags, the stench all this afternoon has been awful.
