Salt Box

Is it possible to have a salt box placed in this location and one opposite the Royal Oak public house. This is a very steep hill with a number of retired people living here and is it not gritted during the winter. Salt has been left in heaps at three loctions on the hill in the past. However this is very wastful and the salt is difficult to move when partially frozen and lumpy. I am happy to grit the road as required during the winter.

Updates

  • Whilst I cannot complain that the council has not delivered any salt, they have and we are very grateful for this, it is now in heaps as in previous years and has a hard frozen crust which make economical spreading of the salt difficult. So perhaps it is to late for this winter season for boxes to be provided and it could be considered before next years winter.
