Void House left to dereliction

Reported anonymously at 13:56, Sat 19 January 2008
Sent to Bridgnorth District Council and Shropshire Council 1 day, 21 hours, 23 minutes later

The unoccupied house on the corner of Woodlands Road adjacent to Broseley Cricket Club car park has had fixtures removed leaving in insecure and open to vandalism. It looks unsightly and spoils a pretty conservation area. It is a disgrace that the new owners have allowed this to occur since applying for permission to demolish it and build 3 houses. It seems to have been left to become derelict.

The Council do not see this as enough of an eyesore to get anything done about it. They believe the damage to be vandalism...is this not reason enough to get it sorted out?

I have received a letter from my MP, who is foolowing this up. Council put the problem down to vandalism, However the present owner removed many items prior knowing that the the provess might fail.

Local Council state that they can do nothing about this. What they refer to as vandalism is actually partial demolition
