The Council does not have any fixed cameras in this area and there are currently no plans to instal any. There are however a number of temporary deployable cameras which are managed by Kirklees Community Safety. The decision to deploy these surveillance cameras is usually made by the relevant locality Community Safety Officer in conjunction with the local Neighbourhood Policing Team or other partner agency, supported by evidence in terms of numbers of crime reports, calls for service and other relevant information. The aim is to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB) by providing the additional deterrent and detection measure referred to above. There are a limited number of cameras available to be deployed across Kirklees at any one time and operational need determines where they go. Evidence has to date not suggested your street as a hotspot in need of surveillance. With regard to permanent installation, this is not something the Council does as a matter of course. Any CCTV installation has to be accompanied by continued calls to the Police so please continue to do this irrespective of the outcome of the CCTV request

problem worse, vandals have now left myself with no vehicle due to smashing it to pieces, feel there is just no point in having another vehicle just to be smashed up again, it has left me house bound as disabled.
