Flooding risk

Reported in the Roads/highways category by David Hazell at 08:52, Tue 31 August 2010
Sent to Swindon Borough Council 3 minutes later

Storm drain is blocked with water coming out of the manhole constantly. This has been a problem for 3 years and has caused floods. Even no there is a massive puddle in the road causing a noise nuisance as cars are constantly driving though it. I am concerned that a high rainfall will cause damage to properties if not fixed immediately. The residents have tried to rod it themselves but the blockage seems to be solid, perhaps a collapsed pipe. The council have been informed by up to three residents but have demonstrated a complete lack of urgency.

The council responded in a few days and found a blocked pipe about 100 feet away. This was fixed with no further problems.
