Another water burst !

Reported by D. W Hayhurst at 12:20, Mon 23 August 2010
Sent to Lancashire County Council and Lancaster City Council 5 minutes later

After putting up with inferior road surface for many years, Fall Kirk, Gressingham was recently resurfaced providing an excellent and first class finish, but this is now being ruined by the number of water bursts in the highway - there have been four in the past few months. Reinstatement of the road surface initially seems satisfactory but seldom proves to last long-term.

The asbestos waterpipe is clearly unsatisfactory and pressure should be brought on United Utilities to replace this pipeline. It will save both them and the Highway Authority money long-term.

The burst has been repaired, but the asbestos pipe, in which I am told there have been seven bursts has not been replaced and clearly needs to be to save money long-term.
