My son fell from a swing and broke his neck.

Conner Hart was being pushed by friends when he fell from the swing at the park on Frank Webb Avenue.

After spending more than a week in Leighton Hospital and the Manchester Royal Children’s Hospital, he’s been allowed home. But he’s virtually confined to bed until October when he’s due back in Manchester for a scan.

Mum Christine Griffiths said: “He’s got movement but his back is very unstable. If his neck wasn’t broken, they’d have kept him in hospital and started physio. But at the moment they can’t manipulate him at all.”

The accident happened on Thursday, August 5.

Mrs Griffiths said: “The children sit in this apparatus and usually a few of them together, and they push it. Conner was on it and he toppled out. He walked home. It’s unbelievable!”

Mrs Griffiths said she isn’t looking to blame anyone - she just wants parents and children to be made aware of the dangers.

Conner will miss starting at Sir William Stanier School next month.
