I have noticed that a great deal of reinstatement is eventually taking place in and around the Borough and indeed the County. I have noticed however that there is a distinct lack of marking up on Watersmeet and Cheriton Way. These roads are a rat run in the rush hours for drivers wishing to avoid the lights at the junction of Billing Road and Rushmere Road. Whist i sadly appreciate that this rat run will not be closed off as happened on the other side of Rushmere Road, i do think that the road could be maintained to a better standard. In the some 11 years that we have lived here i would doubt no more than 2or 3 tonne of material has been laid in patching on these roads. Cheriton Way is in such a poor state as regards the cambered profile of the road that the water runs down the middle of the road and does not shed to the sides. There are manhole covers sitting proud in the road because the road is sinking around them. The footpaths needless to say are an absolute disgrace, broken and dislodged slabs and weeds abound everywhere.I would be grateful for a response from the Local Authority.
